OTHER PEOPLE'S FOOTAGE

Goal:

Carson/Johnson Productions wanted a modern, meaningful poster as well as a responsive website with all the bells and whistles. The result is a unified identity and a website that tells the story of the film and its producers.

My Role:

  • Print Design
  • Web Design
  • Front-End Development

01

Typography

Bebas Nue

Muli

The typeface chosen for the poster needed to be striking and clean. 'Bebas Nue' gave it that Hollywood look with its tall x-height and bold look. 'Muli' was chosen for all web-related aspects because of it's elegant feel and flexibile font weights.

02

Color Palette

#000000
#7e7e7e
#e0e0e0
#f5f5f5
#359eec

The movie's message is about how fair use and copyright isn't so black and white; there are shades of gray in between and the palette was designed to reflect that. The blue is used for accessibility reasons on the website for links, buttons, and highlighted sections.

03

Print

What originally started as a poster design evolved into two more pieces: a postcard to popularize the film and an order form for those who want to purchase by snail mail.

04

Web

The website begins with the logo fading in and slowly spinning into place to set a cinematic tone. The single page design paired with sublte animations throughout the site make the experience feel buttery smooth. Its simplicity makes it both user-friendly and beautiful at any screen size.
