Ozone 10

Goal

Working as the lead designer for Ozone 10, we introduced new modules, features, and prioritized the Assistant view, which leveraged cutting-edge AI technologies to provide users with suggestions to enhance their audio. The result is a product that is beloved by both beginners and seasoned professionals alike.

I brainstormed with other designers to lay a fresh coat of paint on Ozone to give it a retro-modern Synthwave type of vibe. As always, colors were AA contrast tested and color blind simulated for accessibility.

02

Master Assistant

The team and I focused on what a semantic, goal-oriented interface could feel like for mastering, an extremely complex area of audio engineering. We came together on a design that revolved around three major aspects of a pro-sounding master: Tone, Stereo Image, and Dynamics.

Your Personal AI-Engineer

In addition to the overhauled Assistant UX, we worked closely with a contracted animator to create a series of visuals that would be used across iZotope's portfolio. This was done to ensure the Assistant experience felt polished and consistent.

03

Stabilizer Module

The focus for the Stabilizer was to create an effortless way to tame tone and dynamics across the frequency spectrum. By incorporating advanced algorithms and intuitive controls, we were able to craft a tool that allows users to achieve consistent, balanced sound with ease.

04

Impact Module

Our goal was to enhance the rhythm of someone's track through the careful control of microdynamics in a multi-band context. By developing innovative algorithms and an intuitive user interface, we were able to create a powerful tool that allows users to bring new levels of energy and excitement to their music.
Ozone 10 successfully launched and is one of the most highly praised mastering tools on the market today, winning Sound on Sound's Plug-in of the Year award.
